Coaching Questions: A Coach's Guide to Powerful Asking Skills
$14.99 USD $19.49 USDIn Coaching for Christian Leaders, Linda J. Miller and Chad W. Hall introduce readers to the world of coaching. The book contains three sections: an overview of the coaching model, a section on coaching skills (by far the longest), and a portion on coaching in ministry situations. Coaching for Christian Leaders is a practical, skill-focused book that walks you through how to actually do a coaching conversation with another leader, covering techniques from asking and listening to acknowledging, action-planning and defining the coaching relationship. Each technique is copiously illustrated, with exercises to let you practice on your own. You'll walk away equipped with the tools and insights you need to start using Christian coaching with those in your world.
The book also contains an interesting section for ministry leaders on using coaching tools and concepts in a church setting. Miller and Hall take a wide-ranging look at topics like a coaching approach to preaching, to prayer, to conflict resolution, and even to the sacraments. Several appendices also offer a sample coaching contract, coaching forms and other useful information.
Linda J. Miller is a Master Certified Coach and a pioneering figure in bringing coaching into the business and church arenas. She played an important role in helping Corporate Coach University launch its initial coach training programs and works for The Ken Blanchard Companies as global coaching liaison.
Chad W. Hall has served as a pastor, church planter, denominational consultant, and coach trainer. He's been offering coaching and training services professionally since 2001.
"Offering plentiful examples of coaching skills in action and being solidly grounded in Scriptural truths, this book is a must-read for anyone serious about distinctly Christian coaching. Linda and Chad are masterful coaches and have provided a tremendous new resource for the advancement of this field!"
